About us
My name is Helen. My husband and I live just outside Newmarket with our children and two cats. Our family has enjoyed the North Norfolk coast for years. We had always dreamt that one day we may own our own little bolthole under the big skies of Norfolk. Chapel Cottage is a much loved holiday cottage where we spend many happy weeks & short breaks throughout the year. I am often in Warham making improvements to the cottage. I love decorating, upcycling & painting furniture & the opportunity to work with local craftsman, using local or reclaimed materials wherever possible. I try to make sure any trip to the cottage includes a walk along the Quay in Wells-next-the-Sea and a visit to Staithe Street and all its lovely individual shops.
We love the dunes of Holkham, the beach huts at Wells with its soft golden sand, the salt marshes and its abundant wildlife and the beautiful countryside around Warham. We feel ourselves unwind the moment we can see the sea.
We fell in love with Chapel Cottage the moment we laid eyes on it in 2017. It has that rare mix of being close to all the coast has to offer, yet set in an almost unspoilt sleepy Norfolk village, allowing you decide on what pace of holiday you want! You can't fail to relax the moment you walk through the door. Some days we just sit in the garden & listen to the whistles of the Wells to Walsingham stream train and the breeze in the trees. We can while-away the hours, leaving everyday pressures at the front door. We hope you will too.

We had a great stay at Chapel Cottage - the cottage itself is very cosy & the beds are so comfortable. Great facilities. It is in a great location - we visited West Runton, Sheringham, Wells and also ventured to Norwich! Loved it! Highly recommended!" 02/08/2019
